Following talk that Adam Lambert would contribute a song to the New Moon soundtrack, E! News asked the crooner about the possibility.

His answer was simple, yet revealing - and exciting!

“That’s just another rumor. That would be really cool. I should [do it].”

Ummm, yeah you should! Does anyone know the phone numer of the New Moon music supervisor?

Can fans handle Adam Lambert and Robert Pattinson in the same movie? We may soon find out!

• Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest at age 50. The cause of death remains unknown but rumors say a Demerol overdose may have contributed. Also unclear? Whether ex-wife Debbie Rowe will take custody of his kids.
• To the surprise of no one, Jon and Kate Gosselin officially separated after 10 years of marriage and two months of non-stop tabloid attention. Mistress Deanna Hummel may join the show when it returns from its hiatus.
• A fight with the Black Eyed Peas left Perez Hilton assaulted, as you can see on this video and this photo. Polo Molina, the Peas’ manager, was arrested. Perez eventually apologized for using a gay slur to rile up the Peas.

• Actress Farrah Fawcett passed away at 62 after a well-publicized battle with cancer, while showbiz legend Ed McMahon also died this week at age 86.

• Danielle Staub sued Steve Zalewski to block the release of her sex tape.
• Terrell Owens finally met his match (Joanna Krupa) and shuts his yap.

As the recent bikini photos from France proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has no problem showing a little skin.

But if this report is to be believed, we haven’t seen anything yet.

In her new movie, I Love You, Beth Cooper, Panettiere stars as the most popular girl in high school who is the object of the school nerd’s affection.

In one scene, with her back to the camera, she drops her towel in the locker room to impress her geeky suitor (Paul Rust). How naked was she?

“I was really naked,” she said.

Gulp.

“I had these little sticky petals on my boobs, but that was about it. My dad calls me such an exhibitionist,” Hayden Panettiere, 19, continues. “He always says, ‘God, even when you were little, you were such an exhibitionist!’ “

Even so, Hayden Panettiere has no plans to go frontal for the cameras.

She seems open to the idea down the road, at least, so fingers crossed.

“I’m cool with my body, and I’m cool running around undressed and all that stuff, but there are just certain things that not everyone needs to know, that you need to keep somehow private and personal to you,” she said.

“But you never know. I could be 30 years old and just be like, ‘Screw it, I want to take it all off. I better take a picture of this baby before it all goes.’”

Well … she turns 20 in August. How about that for a milestone, girl?

The Los Angeles County Coroner says Michael Jackson’s autopsy is complete, but more testing is needed before the official cause of death can be determined.

The coroner said the cause of Michael Jackson’s death Thursday was deferred because additional testing - including toxicology and other tests - is needed.

That will take 4-6 weeks to complete.

There was no trauma to Michael Jackson’s body and “no indication of foul play” - but he said the superstar had been taking “some prescription medications.”

It has been theorized - though not confirmed - that a Demerol overdose may have played a role in his demise by slowing Jackson’s breathing until it stopped.

While the singer pronounced dead in the emergency room of UCLA, evidence suggests he was not breathing or conscious at the time a 911 call was placed.

The only people happy about the cheating scandal surrounding South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford this week may be Jon and Kate Gosselin.

After all, Sanford’s affair with - and racy emails to - his Argentine mistress Maria Belen Chapur have captivated scandal-crazed gossip readers.

A TV station in Argentina appeared to beat the paparazzi to the punch, said the New York Post, unearthing an older Maria Belen Chapur video.

Argentina’s La Prensa claims the video of Maria Belen Chapur dates back to late 2001, when she was covering the one-month anniversary of the collapse of the World Trade Center twin towers during her brief stint as a TV journalist.

This is Mark Sanford’s lover Maria Belen Chapur. Supposedly.

Little else is known about Mark Sanford’s mistress, who’s supposedly married  with two kids herself, lives in Buenos Aires and is “a beautiful brunette with big eyes who plays tennis on a nearby lawn and runs every morning in her neighborhood.”

The doorman in her building describes her as very nice and “elegant” - she graduated from some of Argentina’s finest schools. But for now she’s holed up in her apartment, avoiding the legions of journalists standing sentry outside.

Meanwhile, other Maria Belen Chapur pictures have been revealed, but may or may not be of the same woman Mark Sanford had a relationship with.

For now, all we can do is make do with what we have - unless another political scandal breaks along the way and takes its risque place, of course.
