Dancing with the Stars Cast: Revealed!

Earlier today, we revealed that Adam Carolla would be teaming up with Julianne Hough on season six of Dancing with the Stars. We now present the rest of this season’s cast:

  • Marlee Matlin: Won the Academy Award for Best Actress for “Children of a Lesser God.” Deaf, but not nearly as bad an example of stunt casting as Heather Mills was.
  • Penn Jillette: From Penn and Teller. The one who talks.
  • Marissa Jaret Winokur (pictured): Won a Best Actress Tony for Hairspray as Tracy Turnblad.

Carly Smithson Shares Previous Album Experience

Carly Smithson is at the center of an American Idol debate: should singers with a professional background have an opportunity to audition on the show?

The contestant recently talked to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution about her previous recording contract and failed album “Ultimate High,” released in 2001.

“I kind of had a bad experience,” the American Idol finalist said.

Smithson (known then as Carly Hennessy) worked with Gregg Alexander, lead singer of the New Radicals and he pushed her toward a more alternative record that she was ready for.

“Gregg pushed the envelope with the lyrics,” Carly said. “I thought it was a great, cool record. I listen to it to this day. It had some great tracks on it. He helped me find exactly what my sound was. I was pleased.”

Given the adult nature of the CD, MCA waited until Smithson was 18 to release the single “I’m Gonna Blow Your Mind” (about oral sex, Antonella Barba fans). It was gaining traction, she said, but then 9/11 happened and “nobody was interested in shopping a new record.”

At that time, the label tried to promote the CD in Europe. Carly moved there, but she said the record company went away at that point and promotion really stopped.

“The [Wall Street Journal article that documented her failure] forget to mention all that,” she said. “It looked like I put out a record and it went nowhere.” She said the reacton to the story “was kind of crazy. One article can have such a snowball effect. They believed everything in it.”

X17 XCLUSIVE - Will Britney's S.O.S. Be Heard In Court Tomorrow?

That’s what we’re hearing!

An X17 source tells us that Commissioner Scott Gordon has apparently “had it” with the large number of ex-parte hearings called in the Britney case - they’re not normal. Tomorrow’s 8:30 a.m. hearing (Brit herself is not expected to appear) will consolidate a number of issues.

Also, Britney’s lawyers Trope and Trope - who are arguing for Brit even though they’re on their way out - will make a motion to revert to the September ‘07 order, which would give back Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline 50-50 custody of their two boys. We also hear Trope and Trope will request a gag order.

Britney’s been recently talking with her new attorney, Jon Eardley, telling him: “I want my life back.”

Via his spokesman Michael Sands, Eardley tells us that “the conservatorship is radically oppressive and unnecessary.”

In the paperwork filed by Eardley last Thursday, the documents point out Brit’s “deprivation of civil rights.” This includes the following:

- Britney not being allowed “a single hearing before the court”

- Not being able to “access counsel of her choosing and to meet with her counsel in a private meeting”

- Being “denied the right to associate freely with her friends” - which also includes no telephone calls, no driving nor the right “to receive and send mail”

- And lastly, “she has been denied the right to her finances.”

That’s quite a lot to have taken away, don’t ya think?
But is Brit ready to go back to having 50-50 custody of her kids?

X17 XCLUSIVE - Hot Heroes Hit Up Hollywood House Party

Looks like these two are still hot and heavy! Heroes co-stars Hayden Panettiere (18) and Milo Ventimiglia (30) continue to enjoy a quiet May-December romance - this weekend they attended a private party in Hollywood.

How come Milo looks super annoyed? And it’s not just these, but EVERY picture we have!

His g/f is hugging her Heroes dad quite a lot - which is a couple shades of weird - but hopefully Milo isn’t jealous of that, because that would be even weirder!

Of course, knowing that Hayden prefers older men (i.e., him) could be worrisome…
Milo needs to lighten up and Hayden needs to watch her back!
