The war of words between the controversial and recently dispatched Miss California, Carrie Prejean, and the organization is becoming a game of legal chicken.

No one’s showing signs of blinking, either.

The latest drama? The 22-year-old says she is gonna give the Miss California USA officials one last chance to clear her name - or she’s gonna sue them.

In a letter Prejean’s attorney just fired off to the lawyer representing the Miss California pageant honcho Keith Lewis, the attorney says Lewis defamed Carrie by making the embattled beauty queen seem uncooperative and difficult to deal with.

The letter also accused Lewis of using Carrie to push a gay agenda. He did not address Donald Trump’s observation that Carrie treated people like $h!t.

The best part? Carrie’s Prejean’s lawyer says Keith Lewis had no right to release the 22-year-old’s “confidential medical information” - i.e. her boob job.

The letter claims that Carrie has suffered “severe emotional distress” as a result of her treatment by the pageant association and its officials.

If Lewis doesn’t recant his comments, Carrie’s lawyer promises he will file suit.

The pageant’s lawyers have threatened to sue back if she doesn’t back off.

Danielle Staub’s sordid past was the subject of an amazing fight on Monday’s finale. Now it looks like it may continue to haunt her - sex tape style!

Steve Zalewski claims he has videos of The Real Housewives of New Jersey star performing sex acts - on him and on herself - and may sell them.

Her ex-boyfriend, 27, whom Danielle dated and dumped on the Bravo reality hit last week, says the 46-year-old Staub was a raging nymphomaniac.

“Not only does she want to have sex all the time, but she loves the thrill of doing it in public places, where she might get caught,” he says.

“She wanted to make love in restaurant bathrooms every time we went out — she’d get excited and say, ‘The people can hear you doing it outside!’”

Danielle Staub and Steve Zalewski had a good run. A sex-filled one.

Other locales in which Steve Zalewski porked Danielle Staub include the back patio of her home, in cars, at a police firing range (!?) and a crowded park.

But the two went through a bad breakup, fueled in large part by Staub’s penchant for borrowing large sums of money from him, Zalewski says:

“She tries to look affluent. But she couldn’t pay the household bills or buy food. Even then, she’d want to borrow 20 grand from me to buy jewelry!”

Now Steve is turning to the best possible way of recouping some of his cash: distributing a Danielle Staub sex tape - or tapes! to the top bidder.

“I’m definitely weighing my options as far as getting it out there,” Zalewski said. “She cost me so much money, why shouldn’t I make a few dollars?”

Upon fleeing a horde of teenage fans, Robert Pattinson was clipped by a taxi cab today in Manhattan, but was merely grazed and emerged unscathed.

The British Twilight hunk had a brush with death running away from a throng of fans front of the Strand bookstore on Broadway and 12th Street.

He had been inside filming scenes for his new movie, Remember Me.

Exiting the building, Robert Pattinson tried to duck a crowd of screaming teenage girls waiting for him on the rainy sidewalk and made a break for it, running across the wet street for his trailer. That’s when a taxi grazed his hip, sources say.

Pattinson reportedly stood still for a moment, appearing stunned, as a bodyguard yelled at the girls: “You see what you did, you almost killed him!”

Yeah, way to show your appreciation, ladies.

Other witnesses downplayed the incident involving Robert Pattinson.

“The reports are exaggerated,” said Vivian Mayer, a spokeswoman for the film’s production company. “It was not caused by his fans. Production continues.”

Pattinson has been mobbed all over the city, and also the subject of more rumors than we can even keep straight. Earlier today, he was reported to be dating Camilla Belle, a rumored love interest who he has been seen with in NYC.

Others say he is obsessed with Kristen Stewart, his Twilight co-star.

Fans of The Hills wondering why Lauren Conrad didn’t say a word when Spencer Pratt called her to apologize on The Hills now have their answer:

She wasn’t even on the other line.

Interviewed on The View this morning, LC was asked about the call from Spencer Pratt, in which he said he was sorry for spreading the sex tape rumors about Conrad and asked her to please attend his upcoming wedding to Heidi Montag.

Fake, fake, fake, Lauren Conrad says.

Put on the spot, Conrad hesitated briefly before throwing the show under the bus, but ultimately did so, admitting her contempt for the program that made her a star for the past five seasons, and expressing no regrets about leaving it.

Celebrities make all sorts of crazy requests when they travel, but if you believe this one, it’s an all-timer - even for the crazy celebrity in question here.

A Dublin, Ireland hotel is said to have refused to install a stripper pole for Britney Spears recently, costing them the (dis)pleasure of her patronage.

An Irish newspaper says she canceled her booking after the hotel denied to provide a custom steel pole in her suite for the brief stay in the country.

A source reveals that to maintain her top form, Britney Spears “likes to have the pole on hand.” Funny, that’s what K-Fed used to say about her …

“A request was made to Britney’s hotel to see if they could install a pole there during her stay there, but they refused point blank,” says a source.

“They’re well used to having major celebrities stay there and they’re happy to accommodate them, but this was just a step too far for them.”

Britney’s high-maintenance requests are nothing new. But, fortunately, she won’t have to settle for working the pole with Jason Trawick alone.

Another hotel has given in to the singer’s request.

Spears will be staying for four nights at the Four Seasons Hotel, which ostensibly acquiesced to her demands for the stripper’s steel BFF.
