Despite rumors that he had a girlfriend in Chicago the whole time, and that they broke up shortly after getting engaged on The Bachelorette last night, Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski are still together, in love and happy as can be.

Appearing as an engaged couple for the first time on Tuesday’s “After the Final Rose” special, the future Mr. and Mrs. Ed Swiderski gushed about each other.

Looks like it’s for real, too. Jillian is moving to Chicago to live with Ed on September 1, and they’re planning on getting married within the next 12 months.

Before the update on Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, the “After the Final Rose” special killed a good amount time with an update on Melissa Rycroft.

Not that we don’t love Melissa. But we know she was dumped by Jason Mesnick, went on Dancing with the Stars and got engaged to Tye Strickland.

A clearly uncomfortable Kiptyn Locke was then forced to relive his rejection at the hands of Jillian on The Bachelorette season finale. And it still hurt.

Kiptyn said he has no regrets about the events that transpired on The Bachelorette, and was very genuine in everything he said and did on the show.

Then it was Reid Rosenthal’s turn on the hot seat. For him, there certainly were regrets, but not about his journey back to Hawaii, only prior to that.

Despite Reid’s outpouring of emotion, Jillian said even if he had told her how he felt sooner, she still would have chosen Ed. Awkward, but honest.

A 12-year-old in the audience then asked Reid out. He declined, courteously.

Reid’s first talk with Jillian since the season finale was no less difficult.

When it was finally Ed’s turn to take the stage on “After the Final Rose,” Jillian Harris beamed. Ed breathed a sigh of relief that they can finally “go public.”

He said he wanted to propose to Jillian ever since their date in Spain, and for whatever it’s worth, they seemed rather smitten with one another on stage.

Finally, Chris Harrison called Ed out on his “mankini” shorts and an audience member asked Ed about his performance anxiety. No issues there, thankfully.

People close to both Chris Brown and Rihanna are going out of their way to deny gossip about the exes secretly meeting up at a New York City hotel this week.

The rumor is not entirely unfounded, as it appears they both stayed in the same NYC hotel - the Trump International Hotel & Tower - unbeknownst to the other.

“Ri didn’t even know Chris was going to be in town, much less that he was in the same hotel,” said a friend of hers. “As for whether they are sneaking around together, she is not dumb, she would never mess around with him again.”

Chris Brown, who finally apologized for the savage beating he put on her in February, is also making sure that rumors tying the former lovers together are promptly shot down - although he has greater motivation to (probation).

Rihanna and Chris Brown did not meet up - but it was close.

“Chris is taking the court orders [to not get within 50 yards of his ex] seriously,” said a Brown pal. “He has called Rihanna since discovering they were staying in such close proximity, but he has definitely not tried to see her.”

It’s okay. We hear Kim Kardashian is available.

Since then, Brown has checked out of the Trump hotel, but remains in NYC for work: This week, he’ll shoot the video for “Stronger,” a duet with Mary J. Blige.

As for Rihanna, she’s currently in the studio with Jay-Z and Kanye West working on her upcoming album. No collaborations with Chris Brown on the horizon.

Former actress and Hollywood’s #1 train wreck, Lindsay Lohan, is rumored to be on the wish list of the producers of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.

Sounds like a good casting fit, only I’m a Celebrity would have a pretty hard time manufacturing the kind of drama she ends up causing nightly in real life.

She of the fiery crotch was caught on video having another epic meltdown on the steps of girlfriend Samantha Ronson’s house at 5 a.m. over the weekend.

From what we can gather amid the screaming and sobbing, Lindsay Lohan apparently had been waiting there for hours. When Sam finally gets home, she cries, freaks and starts accusing her of lying about her whereabouts. It only got uglier.

This would almost be sad and depressing if it weren’t so darn funny. Can it be both at the same time? Follow the jump to watch Lindsay losing it again …

If there’s anything more comedic than Sarah Palin’s farewell speech, delivered Sunday as the Alaska Governor resigned her office, we haven’t heard it.

Although William Shatner reciting portions of Sarah Palin’s farewell speech verbatim on The Tonight Show the following night has to come pretty close.

The master of the spoken-word and master thespian delivered, as only he can, a different take on the now-ex-governor’s classic rambling, nonsensical goodbye.
