Swoon alert: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner made appearances at San Diego’s Comic-Con 2009, hitting the red carpet and a press conference.

While Rob and Kristen appeared a little cold towards each other at first, an eyewitness tells OK! the twosome warmed up as they answered questions about the film.

Sure they did.

Robsten “had their guard up,” says the onlooker, but body language doesn’t lie - when asked about their chemistry, Rob blushed and a smile lit Kristen’s face.

We are totally just moments away from Kristen seducing him.

As the the mood lightened, Kristen’s attitude towards both Robert and Taylor “was very playful.” The two studs then made faces at each other. Like, OMG!!

While recent tabloid reports have been dominated by stories about Kristen and Rob and how he “really wants her,” today’s press conference focused on the film.

Interestingly enough, when asked to describe his favorite scene, Robert Pattinson picked one of the saddest - New Moon spoiler alert! - when Edward leaves Bella.

“I think my breakup scene was my favorite scene,” he revealed. “Hopefully it will come off as having quite a few more levels than the relationship in Twilight.”

Not only does Paris Hilton share a name with Michael Jackson’s daughter, the ho-tel heiress says the King of Pop asked her mom’s permission to use it.

Right. Because the Hiltons have a famed European capital trademarked.

“My mom and Michael went to high school together and they were best friends since they were 13,” the useless celebutante said in an interview with Extra.

“So I grew up knowing Michael Jackson very well and when he had his daughter, he always loved the name Paris and grew up being an uncle to me.”

“So he asked my mom if it was okay and of course she said yes and I think she’s such a beautiful little girl and I’m proud we have the same name.”

If it’s somehow true that Paris Jackson can credit this infamous Hollywood celebrity for her name, boy did that decision come back to bite Michael.

You think you’re naming your daughter after the most beautiful city in the world, then some worthless socialite goes and sullies it by starring in a sex tape and serving time behind bars for DUI. Sometimes, no good deed goes unpunished.

As for the derivation of Michael’s sons’ names, Prince Michael Jackson and Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., those pretty much speak for themselves.

No word on who Omer Bhatti is named for.

Kate Major, the reporter who has allegedly started dating Jon Gosselin in the past week, has resigned from her position at Star Magazine, effective today.

“Star Magazine Senior Reporter Kate Major resigned this morning, Thursday, July 23, citing a conflict of interest between her reporting duties for the magazine and her relationship with Jon Gosselin,” reads a statement on Star’s website.

Conflict of interest? That implies Star had credibility to begin with.

Jon Gosselin and Kate Major were first spotted Saturday at NYC restaurant Accademia di Vino, then made headlines this week when they had dinner in the Hamptons with Michael Lohan and Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin.

“I think it’s authentic,” Zarin told Us Weekly of Gosselin’s relationship with Kate Major. “I think it’s fast. I think it happened very quickly.”

Gosselin has yet to confirm a romance with Major, but the news comes less than a week after Gosselin admitted he was dating Hailey Glassman, the stoner daughter of the surgeon who performed soon-to-be-ex-wife Kate’s tummy tuck.

WHAT A PLAYER: Not only is Jon Gosselin apparently dating two chicks at the same time, he is still married to someone else! And has eight kids with her! Classy.

As if this story weren’t hilarious and weird enough as it is, no one was more surprised to hear about Jon Gosselin’s new girlfriend than Hailey Glassman herself.

“That’s news to me,” Glassman told People when she asked about the rumors that Kate Major, 26, is now an item with Jon Gosselin. Talk about awkward, People.

Us Weekly quotes Major as confirming the relationship, saying: “I didn’t mean it to happen, it just did. I went to do a story on him and ended up falling for Jon.”

Just a few days ago, Hailey Glassman, 22, was gushing about Jon: “This is perfect. It just fits,” she said, possibly confusing him with her mouth and a bong.

Although Hailey knew that Jon and Kate Major were hanging out in the Hamptons together this week, she didn’t realize the trip may have turned romantic.

“I still love Jon and Jon loves me,” a teary Glassman said.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger just issued a statement to the media, denying sexual assault allegations made by Andrea McNulty.

Appearing to read the statement in person at the press conference but not taking any questions from reporters afterward, Ben Roethlisberger said:

“I did not sexually assault Andrea McNulty. Saturday was the first that I learned of her accusations. Her false and vicious allegations are an attack on my family and on me. I would never, ever force myself on a woman.”

“I want to fight to protect my family and my reputation.”

“I’m not going to discuss my private life or this civil case in the media. I’ll respond to her outrageous allegations in the appropriate forum.”

“I have an obligation to our fans, my teammates, my coaches and everyone in the organization to remain focused on the Pittsburgh Steelers and I will do that.”

“The allegations against me are reckless and false.”

“As much as I would like to answer everyone’s questions, I going to respect the legal process and I am confident that the truth will prevail.”

McNulty claims Ben Roethlisberger came on to her at the Nevada hotel where she works and would not stop despite her repeated protestations that he do so.

Ben’s accuser has also been experiencing a number of mental health issues since the incident. It is unclear how this may play into the civil case filed this week.

For reasons unknown to anyone alive, The Hills star Heidi Montag has been selected to perform during the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant telecast next month.

Talk about hitting a low note in the history of pageants and music.

The god-awful “singer” will belt out “Turn Ya Head” off her upcoming debut record, Unleashed, during the August 23 broadcast. Across America and the world, remote control MUTE buttons will be punished with unprecedented force.

Access Hollywood reports that Celebrity Apprentice star Claudia Jordan, Flo Rida, Kelly Rowland and DJ David Guetta also will take the stage that night.

But the true star of the evening will be horsey-face herself …

Despite the new Miss Universe gig, it would be the understatement of the year to say that Mrs. Spencer Pratt’s singing hasn’t been embraced by the public.

Shortly after debuting her first single and video, “Higher,” in 2008, online critics slammed her on the web. At least the ones that weren’t doubled over laughing.

“Excuse me while I go vomit,” “WTF is she serious,” “LOL WUTTTT” and “give me a f**king break” were among the responses by The Hollywood Gossip readers.

Montag said, “I cried myself to sleep that first night after my video came out. I am just a 21-year-old from a small town in Colorado trying to follow her dreams.”

With the fake boobs, nose and lips to prove it, too.

She hasn’t been deterred by fan reaction, or by having no talent whatsoever, as she’s subsequently dropped the singles “No More,” “Overdosin‘” and “Black Out.”

They all sound similar and are equally terrible.
