If you weren’t glued to your TV last night … good for you.

Social activities are preferable (as is reading Hollywood Gossip online). But if you were in fact plopped on the couch, there was plenty to entertain you.

In addition to the premiere of FlashForward, the guilty pleasure that is The Vampire Diaries and The Office quotes that are always hilarious, there was this:

Grey’s Anatomy kicking off its sixth season with a two-hour episode, picking up where the May’s cliffhanger left off and leaving many a tissue box emptied.

Frankly, it was one of the best episodes the long-running has offered us in years - and this is from someone who’s seen all 104 of them (sad, but very true).

Here were some of the highlights of the premiere, in which George was laid to rest and the doctors of Seattle Grace struggled to cope in their own ways:

• Quote of the night, from Chandra Wilson’s Miranda Bailey: “I have to stop caring so much. I have to save it for my son. I can’t keep giving it away here.”
• Quote of the night, runner-up: Mark, after George’s death, on the women in his life: “What is it about that guy… was he hung?” Classic Grey’s Anatomy.
• Hottest couple: Owenstina. Sorry, MerDer. Kevin McKidd (Owen) is awesome, and at least Sandra Oh (Cristina) can be shown from the neck down.
• Horniest couple: Meredith and Derek decided to go at it at every moment (and location). Hot for fans, and a clever move by the producers, as it allowed a pregnant Ellen Pompeo to be on the show, yet rarely visible!
• Lame, made-for-spoiler moment: Lexie briefly thought it wasn’t George who was hit by a bus, disfigured and killed. Cut to commercial. Then we come back and it totally was George! We hate Shonda Rhimes so much.
• DVR Hall of Fame: The original interns stepped away from the funeral unable to control their despair … or laughter. They began howling about George’s death, Izzie’s cancer, and the weddings of Izzie and Meredith.
• A long road: Izzie was brought back from the brink and is beating cancer. But an uphill battle lies ahead as Alex struggles big-time with her condition.
• New faces: As usual, characters were introduced that helped tell doctors’ stories: Arizona and Lexie were wonderful working with them throughout.
• Recession special: Seattle Grace is merging with rival Mercy West and there will be layoffs as a result. No one can accuse the show of not being topical.

The Hills star Audrina Patridge showed off her sexy Maxim photo spread at a bash celebrating her sexy appearance in the men’s magazine in L.A. Thursday.

And why shouldn’t she? Those were quality photos. A lot more so than those airbrushed-beyond-recognition pictures of Heidi Montag nude in Playboy.

Yech.

Here’s Audzo pulling a Spencer and holding up her own photo. One party’s totally fine. Just don’t do it for the paparazzi for the next 20 days, okay Audrina?

DIRTY DEEDS: Audrina shows us more than a few in Maxim.

You can see Audrina on The Hills, premiering Tuesday on MTV. After this batch of new episodes, she’s out the door and filming her own reality show, which will likely be a program very similar, just with less Speidi and more Corey Bohan.

In other words, we can’t wait!

Note to Miley Cyrus: if you want people to respect your privacy, try keeping things private.

In an interview with the Associated Press, the singer - who posts every waking thought on Twitter and takes fans inside her closet for obnoxious YouTube videos - whined about the way she’s treated.

“I think it is all about respect. People forget that when you are in the public eye; people forget you still have to respect people and you still have to (respect) their privacy,” Cyrus said, citing zero examples of how she’s been disrespected.

Cyrus had another message for critics: leave my parents alone!

“Trust the fact that my parents are raising me just like everyone else is raising their kids,” she said. “They are doing it the way they want to. It is not for the media or for any one else to judge how they should or should not raise me.”

As always, this is where Miley is disconnected from reality: she’s not a normal teenager. She’s a world famous celebrity. When she dances like a stripper, and her father defends the act, they both will be judged.

If you don’t want the criticism, Miles, act like other singers your age - such as Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato - and stop creating such controversy.

Professionally, Cyrus hints at the end of Hannah Montana. She says she wants more adult movie parts.

“I love doing Hannah Montana, but I want to continue doing things that are a little bit more darker roles. That is kind of who I am and where I find most of my inspiration in movies like that.”

Based on her upcoming movie, The Last Song, films are also where she finds her latest boy toy.

Is rapper Soulja Boy about to crank dat? Dat being Rosa Acosta, his video model girlfriend and reported fiancee? They’re rumored to be engaged. Hope it’s true!

MediaTakeOut.com reported that Soulja Boy (not to be erroneously spelled correctly as Soldier Boy) as popped the question to Rosa Acosta with a big ass ring.

The site claims Soulja Boy is trying to keep it quiet.

He seems to have already acknowledged it though.

On Soulja Boy’s Twitter page, he posted a Tweet “lol” with the URL of the story. Perhaps that constitutes a denial. Or he finds his engagement really funny.

In any case, here’s a picture of Soulja Boy’s fiancee, with the rapper in all his glory, talking on a cellphone and being kissed by his lovely lady friend …

Are Soulja Boy and Rosa Acosta engaged? Probably not. Are they a hot couple? Absolutely. Such chemistry. If they’re not engaged yet, it’s just a matter of time.

It’s a slow news day. Which is why you should take the time to really enjoy this video of a small baby dancing to “Single Ladies.” It speaks for itself.

Kanye West apparently thinks - and interrupts Taylor Swift to point out - this is one of the greatest videos of all time. OF ALL TIME. Maybe he’s got a point. You don’t see a baby dancing to Taylor’s hit “You Belong With Me” do you?
