On August 6, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie celebrated their son Maddox’s 10th birthday. But there wasn’t much celebrating to be had between them.

The Jolie-Pitts sat in the orchestra section and reserved extra seats for privacy to see the hit musical Wicked at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre.

Lucky for the other patrons that they did so. Why?

A source at the theater tells OK! (yeah, we know):

“Maddox looked so uncomfortable after about 20 minutes and tried to get his parents’ attention - while his sister Shiloh was scared and crying.”

“Brad and Angelina turned very tense the whole time. They hardly spoke, and as soon as the show was over, they went their separate ways.”

That about sums up Brangelina these days.

The wedding buzz may swirl around the couple, but they’ve been leading separate lives in London as Brad films his zombie thriller, World War Z.

When he’s not filming, sources say he spends off-hours with pals, in particular a mysterious young assistant who we’ve reported on before.

“Angelina is seething!” the insider says. “When she rearranged her schedule and flew to London to be with Brad, she imagined they’d be having romantic dinners and hanging out together on the set, and he’s basically blowing her off.”

In Angie’s view, Brad is basically a bad boyfriend.

“They had plans; then he’s left her hanging at the last minute,” the source says of the pair. “For instance, they were supposed to go to this French restaurant.”

“Angie got all dressed up. Then he called and canceled.”

It takes a lot to break up with someone who looks like Florence Brudenell-Bruce. But Prince Harry reportedly has a very good reason for splitting with the lingerie model: the war in Afghanistan.

“Harry has a lot on his mind at the moment,” a source told The Daily Mirror of the pilot. “He is concentrating on his Apache helicopter training. After that, he’s expecting to return to Afghanistan.”

Brudenell-Bruce started dating Prince William’s brother in June, soon after he ended his long-time relationship with Chelsy Davy. She had been spending a lot of time at his Notting Hill home, but Harry is training to be an Army Air Corps Pilot and didn’t want to be “tied down” during these exercises, a friend says.

For once, we might actually buy the age-old line. It’s really not you, Florence. It’s Harry’s ambition.

Scotty McCreery has announced the named and the release date of his debut album.

Titled “Clear As Day,” it will be available on October 4.

“We’re putting what I believe are the best songs we could find on it and I really hope everyone likes it,” Scotty said Friday on Good Morning America. “The whole experience has been amazing! I love working with my album producer, Mark Bright, and have gotten to work with some of the best musicians in Nashville!”

Jon Gosselin is not exactly sad that TLC canceled Kate Plus 8.

On the contrary, he is “very relieved” that his kids will be finally away from cameras, he tells Radar Online. “I hope they can have more private family moments.

“I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children.”

Jon says he’s long advocated for its cancellation and the kids getting “attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future.”

“I have no clue what her next move is,” Jon said of Kate. “I hope she dedicates more time to the kids. I wish her the best as she goes forward.”

“Contracts have to end at some point,” he said of TLC’s decision. “I think everything ran its course and it was time to come to an end anyways.”

Jon and Kate Plus 8 premiered in April 2007. It became a ratings smash, but nothing like what followed in 2009 when the marriage imploded.

The couple, now on more amicable terms, share custody of their eight kids. Kate is single, though she says she is ready to start dating again.

Jon Gosselin has a girlfriend, Ellen Ross, works a regular 9-to-5 job and lives in a Pennsylvania apartment not far from his ex-wife’s house.
